Project Portfolio Manager

Opmerkingen: This product was chosen by the PMO Director and I was the PM to implement the product along with my fellow PMs in the PMO. The implementation was straight forward and facilitated by the vendor. The training by the vendor was good, but the documentation and training materials are wanting. The system was rolled out to the entire IT department, but only the PMO utilized it. Other groups within IT found the product difficult to use and understand. Because the PMO used the product daily, the PMO found the product serviceable, but the clunky interface made it difficult at times. The product was discontinued from service here at CCHS, but the vendor was helpful in turning down and archiving the information. The system is a capable system for tracking and rolling up large portfolios of projects, so in that I can recommend the system. The interface was not to our liking, but other organizations may find it to their liking.

Pluspunten: The software uses an easy folder structure for tracking multiple portfolios.

Minpunten: The software user interface requires the user to navigate a convoluted series of menus all over the system to accomplish tasks. The reporting capability is limited in that it is primarily textual and any thing more requires custom coding. The product uses a difficult-to-use project task building and maintenance system for managing project schedules.
