Excellent program design specifically for real estate.

Opmerkingen: This software is the main focal point in my business. I'd be lost now without it. When I started I used ledger books to post entries, what a difference a few years can make. No more going over ledgers when you are out by a few cents. It basically does most of the work for you!

Pluspunten:

Ease of use. The different components all work together to provide everything you need to run your real estate business efficiently. We receive regular updates throughout the year, things that help our business run smoothly. Lone Wolf listens to the companies using their products, this is huge. After using two other programs this one is by far the best. I have recommended it to many other real estate offices. In this business that changes on a daily business, you require the best up-to-date equipment to work with...and this, in my opinion, is it! I have used Lone Wolf for over 20 years. I've watched it grow and change and as our business has done the same.

Minpunten:

Would love to see an advertising program as part of the listing side, something that could be used to submit to the newspaper or other means of advertising.

Opmerkingen: This software has thought of everything as far as accounting and running a real estate brokerage. Their support is excellent. Always available and speedy answers.

Pluspunten:

This software has thought of pretty much everything that is needed for your accounting transactions etc all in one spot. Accountants love it and the reporting functions

Minpunten:

The only thing I didn't like about the product is that it is so extensive that the training curve is quite huge. Once trained though it is an amazing product

A love/hate relationship.

Opmerkingen: My formal education was in engineering and I spent 23 years as a systems analyst and computer programmer developing and maintaining software systems for many different industries. This is one of the worst pieces of software I have ever used. The only reason we use it is that there is no alternative which provides so much of what is needed to manage the accounting needs of a real estate brokerage in one integrated system. The overall concept is comprehensive and reliable (if you can figure out how to use it) but the actual programming techniques and grouping of related functions are terrible. It desperately needs to be re-written. But it is the devil we know.

Pluspunten:

BrokerWOLF covers most of our brokerages accounting requirements including listings management, sales (trades) management, agent billing and commissions payment, general accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and general ledger. The only thing that we have to manage separately is property management.

Minpunten:

I have been inclined to describe BrokerWOLF software as "old technology" but that is too kind. It is just plain poorly written. Even "pretty old technology" software allows for "adding on the fly" (ie: adding a vendor without having to leave the Invoice Entry function to use the Vendor Add/Change/Delete function). Also, in most areas of the system, if you make a mistake in entering some information or want to enter most of it and go back and edit it to add the remainder later, it is impossible to add or change any portion of the entered and stored item (even if it is strictly alphanumeric secondary information and not a key field) without having to reverse the original entry and then re-entering it. (bloody annoying). Even the normally simplest of functions, such as entering an accounts payable invoice, quickly became a full day exercise on the first try, with numerous calls to tech support instead of a quick 5 minute learning exercise, because of unexpected and un-intuitive "extras switches" or items which need to be entered or selected on the input screen, presumably to provide for some unknown feature somewhere else in the system. NOTHING IS SIMPLE OR INTUITIVE.

Keep increasing price but lots of features

Pluspunten:

I has so many reports that you can pull. Lots of ways to structure the information it holds. It does a very good job for brokerage analytics.

Minpunten:

It is a little clunky sometimes utilizing Canada terminology over USA terms. They also continue to increase their standard pricing regularly.

Opmerkingen: Included in my annual realtor board membership and cost is factored... However, it is a very effective and helpful tool for realtors to manage documents preparation and signing.

Opmerkingen: Overall I liked working with BrokerWolf. The more I used it the more I liked it. I couldn't have done without their customer support and they were all great!

Pluspunten:

Software is amazing for a real estate office. It figures commission and breakdowns of commission splits "to the tea". Although you pay for support, it's customer service and support is top notch!

Minpunten:

The software is challenging to learn at first. Once you get and idea of how it works, the program makes sense. However, the learning curve is large. Also, you cannot customize reports that easily.

Opmerkingen: Use it 8 hours a day, 5 days a week to run our back office and value all that BrokerWolf has to offer.

Pluspunten:

I LOVE the help provided when I am faced with a situation I have not encountered before on a transaction etc - the step by step instructions with screenshots is invaluable (and saved for future reference).

Minpunten:

What I like least is there are too many menu items to learn (wealth of info available, but not always sure how to use it or where to look for it). My only suggestion is that Lonewolf provide training sessions in more convenient locations - or possibly try doing interactive webinars with a limited amount of attendants that can ask questions etc.

A Real Estate Must-Have

Opmerkingen: Overall this program is a must have for any real estate office. It makes accounting and reporting so easy!

Pluspunten:

Broker Wolf makes paying agents a breeze. I am able to input the agents information, along with their pay breakdown so when they do have a transaction close, the payment is automatically completed when I close the transaction! No second guessing. We can also track the transaction through the program and run detailed reporting on basically anything input into the system!

Minpunten:

The interface can be a little difficult to comprehend but after using it for a little while it has become very easy.

Learning new/upgraded features.
Not liking the new login tho, change that back!

Pluspunten:

That I don't have to worry to much about the calculations. I like that it is familar and easy for me to use and teach when we have new members joining.

Minpunten:

I have to search to many sub numbers to find what I want and the search bar doesn't help to much. I didn't receive a book or know of one that would help with the process of learning, which would help when training.

Great Accounting Platform

Opmerkingen: We are able to look after all of our accounting needs in house and only need to rely on our accountants for tax preparation, which is saving us a lot of money.

Pluspunten:

Ease of use. Very logical and handles our day to day business without having to rely on an outside accounting firm.

Minpunten:

There are issues with how the letters are formatted. We have to copy the lawyer's letters to a Word program as it never prints out properly from the LW system

Opmerkingen: BrokerWolf and ZipForms are working together which is one of the reasons I decided to purchase the package, but I can say that the customer service department is nice and pleasant. The zip forms side of things is still trying to figure out how everything works together also pleasant enough but not as knowledgeable as the broker wolf staff.

Pluspunten:

I liked the thought of being able to have all my accounting in one system. It all sounded easy to use and set up no issue you will be able to use immediately. NO PROS on my end

Minpunten:

The technology on this it truly feels like I went back to school on an MSDOS system, F1 for this and L1 for this other, its so old fashion. Its not customized to immediately start using it for your brokerage, you have to spend time, not a little of time a lot of time formatting and customizing letters for the commissions and its not like a Microsoft word oh no, it is literally type save and then view, making sure the format is looking good. Then back to type, modify and save, I am still working on those letters. The codes oh my gosh, I don't know who thought codes were a good idea which you also have to go back and modify. There is so much more which makes this software so hard to work with. I consider myself a tech savvy person but this software on my MAC is a constant daily struggle, I hate it with passion, I have a contract that I have to abide and its expensive. If you are a new broker or brokerage this technology is not for you. I have lots to share regarding my experience but I think this will give you an idea of what you are in for if you decide to use them.

Brokerwolf is Awesome!

Opmerkingen: This has really helped us to see exactly where our $ are going. Love that it is transaction specific. Holds us and our agents much more accountable. Being able to project sales and volume, keep track of agents individually- we had never had this option before 2015 and it has been an eye opener. We now rely on this type of info to adjust accordingly- problem areas and such. The ability to look up specifics for just about anything is fantastic, from vendors, to GL codes to Agents and groups of properties- just love it!

Pluspunten:

That it is real estate specific. Hated quickbooks! Integrated accounting- everything must go through Brokerwolf. Forces us to be better record keepers. Reports Ability to create a specialized report.

Minpunten:

1. Using The Community to solve issues. Very difficult to explain exactly what is needed and get a decent answer.Sometimes the question is just too technical. I would say maybe half the time using the Help option and submitting an online help request is truly helpful . I end up calling to speak with someone anyway. 2. Having reports is fantastic. On the other hand there are so many reports in this program, I can't figure out which one to use sometimes. I keep a detailed list of several different reports of what works for our company. I know there are other reports in Brokerwolf that would probably be helpful, but I don't have the expertise to figure out what they are. And looking up key words in Help doesn't get me very far. I usually end up calling in. 3. Recently I had to modify a custom report that was created a couple of years ago. Spent quite a bit of time on the phone with the very WONDERFUL Customer service rep (after getting no where in Community) and she was having just as much trouble. Come to find out, the field we wanted to include in the custom report ( tax roll #) isn't an available option from which to include. I think she was as frustrated as I was. She finally was able to figure out a solution to get around the issue. Of which I am eternally grateful. I really needed that report. Bottom line, I just don't feel it should have been that hard. Why wasn't that field an option when all the other fields were? Makes no sense. She earned her paycheck that day.

Pluspunten:

The pros of using LoneWolf is it's ease of use. From setting it up initially, using it day to day and completing the year end. The accounting interface is the best. Balancing bank statements is so efficient. Real Estate transaction sheets provide the agents with all the information they need. They also like the various reports that I can produce for them. The broker also is happy with the reporting that can be obtained. Updating the software is quick and easy.

Minpunten:

Support is not as good as it used to be. I liked the option of calling a representative with questions. I currently have a problem that they have closed again without fixing the problem. Their problem is they are not understanding my problem. It is now a joke all my peers at other brokerages and I laugh about. Sometimes the updates drive me crazy. Logging onto Lone Wolf is cumbersome now. The broker absolutely hates the password rules.

I was new to Lone Wolf. It's the perfect program for real estate offices! Support is outstanding!

Pluspunten:

The best thing about Lone Wolf is the ease of closing transactions. The program calculates everything for you in a real estate transaction. It easily pays the agent, calculates the amount owed to your brokerage, the amount for BHHS and any other expenses such as paying another vendor in the transaction or a referral fee. It is easy to receive commission payments and the commission reports are spot on. You never have to calculate anything. The instant support via the Community Resource center, emails and telephone is none that I've ever experienced with any other program. Lone Wolf is a complex program, but the more you use it and get the support you need; the more helpful it is and the easier it becomes. Overall is a super fun program to work with that does just about everything for you!

Minpunten:

The least favorite part of Lone Wolf for me is the challenge of creating customized reports. There are numerous amounts of reports with in the software, but it's not cut and dry. For example the P&L and Balance sheet are obtained through "Accounting F/S". The P&L and BS are located here. Along the same line, if I wanted to find a specific figure, it is challenging to locate that. However, with that said, you can always get in touch with support.

Hard to understand at the beginning but with practice it becomes your best resource

Pluspunten:

The amount of reports that you can get. When setting the program, it is nice that your trainer will customize it so you can understand better where to go base on what you are doing. I love that you can manage your Agents but also closings from their Transactions plus you can manage your Accounts payable all in one place!. Customer service is my favorite thing., you never feel alone, they always answer your questions in an easy way and help you until you accomplish what you want.

Minpunten:

How complicated the letters and numbers from the menu option seem to be. After learning what each number is for, everything starts to make sence

Reveiw of Lone Wolf Back Office and Accounting

Opmerkingen: I've had a very positive experience using Back Office and Accounting. If I have any questions or run into a problem, I am able to speak with someone on the phone or a work ticket is placed. It has made my job much easier as far as entering listings, keeping track of price changes and entering new sales for our office.

Pluspunten:

Our company started using Back Office three years ago. It has been a huge upgrade from our previous system. We are able to keep track of our listings, price changes, and open houses. All of our sales are entered into Back Office as well. We are able to run reports for active listings, closed listings and reports for awards for our agents. It has simplified our process tremendously.

Minpunten:

It was a little bit of learning curve and we had a few kinks to work out in the the beginning, but once those were out of the way, it works wonderfully.

Pluspunten:

I work in a real estate office and when I first login into the program you can see the Agents YTD Commission Totals, Top 10 Selling Agents, Bank Balances, Deals Closing. And at the end of the year it was easy to print the agents 1099's. The program is good for billing the agents, also I like the report you can print after each closing to give to the agent so they can see the break down of transaction.

Minpunten:

What I don't like about the program is at the end of the year when you print all the 1099's it doesn't print the 1096 form for you, you have to manually fill the form out. Also each month when I am trying to reconcile our Escrow Account it doesn't let me post the bank service charge as a journal entry without having to post it to a transaction.

Comfort yet requires adjustability

Pluspunten:

Tracking requirements, conditions, closings, etc. (Downside is not having Analytics for automatic reporting)

Minpunten:

Copy and paste is not permitted, Commission amounts cannot be based on Net of HST purchase price (we sell new builds so HST is backed out of Commission base.); and letter is not allowing our new logo on top and I have since lost one standard letter format....Finally, we do not use Brokerwolf for General accounting so it would be nice to have HST received cleared out with a click of a button...lol

Work made easy

Once you learn all the ins & outs of this program, it is very easy to maintain all records for accounting and data processing. I would actually say the integrated accounting in this program is the best I have used and has made my job much easier & more time efficient. Sales processing is also easy to learn and easy to train new employees.

Minpunten:

I find the software quite expensive considering all the "upgrades" and "improvements" do not necessarily reflect the work that we do or require as upgrades/improvements. And if there is something that would make a difference to my usage, it is often not important enough to generate a fix.

Like the software

Pluspunten:

I was a former accountant - so I can customize where needed. Fast generation of commission checks for our agents. Easy to get docs ready for the accountant at year end. Love the Training section where you can test things before you try it and screw it up! Customer Support is wonderful - everyone is always helpful and easy to get to. Ability to interface with the RE/MAX monthly reporting to get our stats to RE/MAX.

Minpunten:

Cost keeps going up and is tied to the number of agents. I don't understand the logic of price being tied to the number of agents. Software is software in my mind. For us - I know there are many more layers that we don't even use - but we're being charged to include that.

Complete Package

Opmerkingen: The overall experience with brokerWolf is an honest 10. We recently took on a huge project to implement our very 1st TRM and not one minute of work was disrupted with the application integration into BW, it was a seamless integration. Our transaction processing time has been cut a minimum of 60%.

Pluspunten:

I like the entire program - it efficiently tracks every transaction plus has an effective financial package. It integrates well with our TRM application and if we ever have any problem, the self help is usually enough to troubleshoot but if not, customer support has the answer every time.

Minpunten:

Financial reports are so far what I like the least, but I have not contact customer support to see if the program can produce what I need.

Opmerkingen: I am able to do everything from accounts payable, to finance, to agent support. I can easily get everything I need to submit taxes and source deductions easily to the government. I am able to print off any report from the request of the broker, and I can easily see what we have done in years past and what we need to meet or beat it. Easy to set goals for the agents.

Pluspunten:

I like to see where our agents are at. What is closing, and all the reports for finance of the company.

Minpunten:

I wish it would show me what is needed to break even in the upcoming months based on budget to how many closings we need.

Old system that can’t work in today’s world

Opmerkingen: Increasingly downhill every year. The program is too much in all respects.

Pluspunten:

There aren’t many. Nearly every interface is difficult. In its early days, Brokereolf was a decent set up. As time progressed, they’ve outsourced, added too much and charged too much.

Minpunten:

It is not a user friendly site anymore. The US to Canadian differences cause major concerns. The staff hired to reconcile are absolutely terrible. Broker wolf needs to cut back on the programs and focus on the software brokerages are buying - they need to be user friendly; not so difficult brokerages have to hire another part of brokerwolf to fix it.
