It has improved from version 7 to the recent release of X in speed of backup to the point I can backup and verify a 100 gb C drive in less than 5 minutes (using USB4). It can restore your system, from scratch, in just a few minutes more. I finally gave up and tried a different cloning software. And guess what........ It went without a hitch. Cloned on the first attempt. So.... I ask again..... It has saved me quite a number of times from difficult situations. For example, I have a couple of programs (including Macrium) that occasionally lose their key settings files on one of my computers. If I can't restore in a simpler way, I can restore the last good copy from a backup with a minimum of fuss, seeing \& even opening the file(s) in question before restore. Macrium is also very useful in preparing a new HDD/SSD for use by copying whole disks or partitions. Lastly, there is occasional crapware that does something to my system that I can't figure out. Typically, the easiest solution is to simply restore from a backup a day, a week or sometimes a month prior. Viola\! Support has its own site, but their system doesn't recognize my credentials and I never received the reset key. Emails to their sales department about the issue are just ignored.
