The giphy integration is the perfect way to get folks engaged. I love the search function and the auto-response feature the best.
I get lost on some of the channels - there are a lot of channels with different teams. I find that I get confused with which channel is for what.

Slack is a great tool for my small business
Slack , echt iets voor mij.
Opmerkingen: Gelijk bij het eerste gebruik was ik erg tevreden . Overzichtelijk en goed
Pluspunten:
Makkelijk in gebruik . Jij moet eerst klikken en uitproberen
Minpunten:
Jij moet eerst even weten hoe het werkt . Dan gaat het super
Overwogen alternatieven:
Implementing Slack at work was an absolute decision
Opmerkingen: We implement slack for inter-office communications. Slack made the communication possible and managing workflows was a lot easier. We often use slack for real-time messaging not, particularly for archives. Overall, slack has enhanced our business productivity, collaboration between project teams, and managed to provide streamlined communication.
Pluspunten:
Slack was easy to use and implement at work. The web version of slack works completely fine. The slack interface is streamlined and ideal for business communication. We are able to replace emails at work and use communication on slack, which is quick and easy for project teams. The most significant thing I loved about Slack is, it can be integrated with other productivity, communication, and collaboration tools to make the work more streamlined and can be an optimum choice for automation and scripting.
Minpunten:
The only downside to this application is its pricing. The standard plans lack most of the important features, so we thought of upgrading to Plus. Since the price is based on per person per month, we found the pricing for Plus too high. So, we had expected if the price could be pay-per-module, but that can’t be helped either.
Slack is best for team communication!
Opmerkingen: Best commutation & collaboration tool for team
Pluspunten:
Easy to communicate with team! Easy to integrate with different apps!
Minpunten:
As of now, No concerns as I know about slack!
Overwogen alternatieven:
Not bad for small groups, horrible for large groups, free plan is now crippled
Opmerkingen: Only using Slack with external teams that use them. We no longer use it with our internal teams. Their confusing threaded views is really their downfall. There are other alternatives out there that do a much better job.
Pluspunten:
Slack has a very nice, slick interface. When the workspace is not busy, it's very easy to see all the messages and figure out what's relevant for you. Very easy to setup new workspaces and channels. And basically, the key reason why we use Slack is because almost everyone is using it.
Minpunten:
Their free plan is now crippled. Only 90 days of retention. On a number of free workspaces, I wanted to refer back to some info which I no longer can find. Very frustrating. Slack also implements threaded conversations as a "tack-on" feature. Not everyone uses this feature and it just causes more and more user confusion, especially in large workspaces where many messages are mixed into the main channel as well as in threads. Their threads/mentions&reactions views which are supposed to help you filter out things not relevant for you are huge messes. Their pricing plans are also very expensive.
Great option for team communication
Pluspunten:
I really like that I can sync automations with Monday. And I can also manage permissions for everything, that way we can have multiple channels with the persons we want to.
Minpunten:
I dont have anything to complain about Slack, it is being really useful. We can communicate with the entire team, and it helps a lot the remote workers to stay connected with the office.
Modern communication tool
Opmerkingen: Slack is a great tool, it helped us streamline the communication between all the stakeholders on one platform.
Pluspunten:
Flexibility of configuration and customization
Minpunten:
There is nothing that I can think of as a con of Slack. We just love this tool.
Slack is a game changer.
Opmerkingen: I have been using it for years and would not trade it for anything. It helps us run our company better and it is essential in taking care of our teams.
Pluspunten:
Slack is a great communication tool in the work place. It is easy to upload video and pictures. The different channels you can create are amazing as well.
Minpunten:
I wish you could remove someone from your slack account from your phone easier. You could do it, but it difficult to do. You usually just have to do it on a desktop.
Slack is a great tool for my team
Opmerkingen: My overall experience with Slack has been great! It’s easy to use, keeps communication organized, and helps the team stay connected and productive. It’s been a really positive tool for collaboration.
Pluspunten:
What I love most about Slack is how it makes staying connected with the team so easy. Conversations feel natural, everything is organized in channels, and it’s simple to share files or integrate tools. It really helps keep everyone on the same page without feeling overwhelmed!
Minpunten:
Honestly, I don’t have any real cons with Slack. It’s a great tool that works smoothly for team communication and collaboration. If anything, it just depends on how well your team organizes it, but overall, it’s been a positive experience for me!
Great Product, Highly Recommend for Workplaces
Opmerkingen: Overall Slack offers a great user-friendly program. It offers a lot of customization and organization tools such as sorting your channels, setting reminders, making lists, and many more! It is a great program to use especially in a WFH environment to help keep you updated and in touch with everything!
Pluspunten:
User-friendly in the app and web browser. I love the customization features and the ability to sort out channels within your screen for a more organized experience.
Minpunten:
Slack is a great program. I miss the split screen feature where you could have 2 channels/chats open on the same page at the same time. Please bring it back!
Easy to message and connect with your team for project
Opmerkingen: Overall experience is very good in terms of messaging, screen sharing etc. There is lot of feature available on slack like you can group your colleague in a group which make easy to ping them whenever you want. The UI interface of Slack attract me the most
Pluspunten:
We can ping to our team member easily, can have discussion on call, video calling and we can also share our screen. It is very easy to use for corporate users to connect with your peers
Minpunten:
Sometimes, I don't receive the notification when someone pinged me on Slack and sometimes it get logged out and doesn't signin easily
Must-use Tool for Remote Teams
Pluspunten:
Slack is so easy to use and makes collaborating with colleagues remotely incredibly useful. Great integrations as well.
Minpunten:
Really hard to pick something. Maybe the sorting of results when searching for something across all channels could be streamlined slightly.
Overwogen alternatieven:
Google Hangouts Replacement, Saved us from Teams
Opmerkingen: I actually enjoy Slack. It is fun to use, and I like much more than sending an email.
Pluspunten:
Slack really allows us to communicate effectively based on group or subject. We can communicate directly in the General chat, directly, or in any number of specialized group channels. Each team has their own channel, and if needed, that channel can be locked to prevent other teams from entering. Most are open channels that allow for any of our teams to come in and converse on the subject titled. One our favorite things to use are external apps. I love that Slack will pop up an upcoming appointment or if we need a meeting in say Zoom, I can just type /zoom and it will generate a Zoom link and we can all join in. We are on the free tier, so with the higher level tier, you can get conferencing and a wealth of other features added in. The free level serves us very well. We use email integration also, so important emails and even things like weather alerts pop up as a Slack notification. It is really a great service.
Minpunten:
Can be confusing to use if you are not used to chat systems such as Hangouts or WhatsApp though. The idea of a separate room, or Group chat, confuses some, but once they see how things work, it is a non-issue.
Overwogen alternatieven:
Fast and Simple
Opmerkingen: All and all it's been good. I wish it were cheaper but it's not. For what it is though, Slack is an incredible communication tool that has been very reliable to us with no down time and no bugs.
Pluspunten:
First off we don't use any of the add-ons. They seem incredibly useful for those who need them but we just don't have the need. What we like about Slack is that it's simple and very fast. We used HipChat back in the day and liked that but once they got bought out by Slack we tried some Rocket.Chat and Microsoft Teams. In the end we had issues with both of these and decided to give Slack a shot. Slack is very simple and easy to use and is extremely quick. We constantly found the competition software would lag after as little as a month or two of use due to all the messages.
Minpunten:
Price. Compared to the competition it's expensive. When Slack bought out HipChat we were initially bummed because our price per user was going from around $2 a month to $7 a month. As a company who doesn't use any of the add-ons this seemed a bit steep. All and all I would say it's still too expensive for what we use it for but the other options out there have issues so large we continue to use Slack.
Overwogen alternatieven:
Love it. Slack-ing off @ work
Opmerkingen: It has offered a more comfortable work life and the UX seems to have that as a guiding principal. It works well and has a wonderful host of API's that greatly extend functionality of the software.
Pluspunten:
It makes Microsoft Teams or whatever they call it this year obsolete. It's like an intra-office Reddit for us. Hilarious but still very productive.
Minpunten:
That it defaults to trying to update via windows store. Which is not accesible via group policy. Forcing an manual install every time.
Best Team Communication Software Out There
Opmerkingen: Very positive. Few complaints. A super fun, dynamic, effective platform for work, projects, etc. alike.
Pluspunten:
I don't think anything can compete with Slack. It's quick, efficient, fun to use, social, playful (GIF's! /giphy), unclogged and dynamic. The calling and group chat features have been especially handy lately with remote working. I also love that you can add such a diverse range of content (code, movies, images, gifs, lists, quizzes, link previews, etc.). The polls + GIF randomizers also keeps things 'fun' and light, useful for all types of people in all types of roles. The UX is very straightforward, the interface design is beautiful and FUN, which is important for a communication platform. People enjoy being on Slack. I don't mind opening it up - and that means a lot, considering it means I'm working. The search and archive functions are also great.
Minpunten:
Don't have many complaints, honestly. I think it might be better if you had a way of storing 'updates' for projects, the way Basecamp does. Pinning messages, or files? To prioritize them, so they don't get lost in the conversation flow. Also could maybe benefit from a 'presentation mode' for Slack video, unless it exists already, to compete more with its competitors like Zoom? But overall, I have few/no complaints.
Why We Use Slack For Our Start-Up
Opmerkingen: Slack has been a great addition to our daily work ethic. Being able to use it on a mobile device as well as desktop is key and it has become an integral part of splitting up our tasks. I really couldn't recommend it more.
Pluspunten:
The overall ease of this software is superb. Every one of our team members found it easy to use immediately.
Minpunten:
The one thing that bugs me is the return button. If you are writing a message then if I want to use a new line by pressing return Slack actually sends the message. So I then have to go in and edit my message. Return in Slack is another key. You would think would be easy to remember but then every other product has the return key used as a new line so I'm always having to edit my messages of they are spaced out.
Overwogen alternatieven:
Slack is the solution for internal communication and collaboration
Opmerkingen: Slack helps our team stay coordinated, interact in a timely manner, and track information in channels that provide context.
Pluspunten:
Slack's ease of use and understanding it paramount. While I find Teams to be over-extending itself into the Office world, Slack is just about making sure you can keep communication clear, timely and open. The ability to shift between private DMs, open channels, and private channels nicely delineates the way you can manage communication across a team. We use Slack for all internal communication, relegating email to external comms, which works really well.
Minpunten:
The channels can overwhelm casual users at times. While the system tries to clean things up with suggestions, I think Slack should do more intentional hiding of under-used channels to keep it clean.
New Age Communication Tool
Opmerkingen: Good, good, gooood. Thanks to Slack that enabled us to improve our communication and achieve our set goals. Instead of email, we communicate through Slack and it gets a better result.
Pluspunten:
I like the cool features and amazing functionality of Slack. It makes file sharing, meetings, and team collaboration so easy that anybody can do it without putting much effort. Since we started using Slack, we have shifted almost all of our daily communication to this one-in-solution. Our team members always get in touch with each other using the real-time chat feature. We have created different channels for different teams that helps us manage the work in a more organized way. File sharing is a big part of our work routine and Slack does it professionally. Integration with other applications such as Google Drive and Dropbox is another added feature. I have the PC version and also installed the phone application that helps me keep in contact with the team so effortlessly.
Minpunten:
The contacts tab design can use some improvement. It's all cramped up. The drop-down arrows with the channel sometimes hide the contacts and that really annoys me. I wish there was a different user interface with more ease of use.
Overwogen alternatieven:
Experience after 3 years of useing Slack
Opmerkingen: Slack demonstrates a strong scientific link, particularly when used for internal company communication. Slack is also user-friendly, with an easy-to-use layout and a login interaction with LinkedIn. Furthermore, as compared to other programs, this application is quite light on computers and phones.
Pluspunten:
It is highly handy for this application to combine login with Linkin, which helps to improve connection possibilities while eliminating many redundant login processes. Also, because Slack is cross-platform (desktop, Android, and iOS), everyone in my firm can communicate with one another regardless of device. Furthermore, the possibility to connect to other storage services like Dropbox, Google Drive, GitHub... Slack's free plan allows users to save up to 10,000 messages exchanged by the team, 5GB of storage, and connect up to 5 additional carrier services.
Minpunten:
The storage of messages only takes place for a short time and it is necessary to update the paid application versions to use more features. This makes the free version quite limited and unpopular for long-term storage of information.
Pretty great way to connect with your team
Opmerkingen: I really enjoy using Slack to connect with various groups and individuals I need to interact with both inside and outside of my work organization. Adding additional connections outside of my organization is easy and then gives me access to all work-related communications inside the app I already use for work communications. Very convenient!
Pluspunten:
It's easy to set up new workspaces, and once they're set up you have an easy way to connect with all the people you work with simply and in either a synchronous or asynchronous way. This is especially helpful when connecting with people from multiple timezones.
Minpunten:
Video calls are pretty resource-intensive so it's sometimes hard to do such things as share your screen to demonstrate a problem you're working on. Furthermore, those controls always get in the way of what you're trying to do. It would be nice if they could be minimized into a floating button, or something, that you could move out of the way until you needed them.

Slack as a virtual Workspace
Opmerkingen: Overall it is excellent tool for communication. I did not explore more complicated features yes, but so far, on the basic level, the functionalities are flawless, and, most importantly, it is easy to deply, easy to learn. Some of my employee are not technologically savy, dont like learning new apps of softwares, but Slack was implemented practically without problems. I tried the pro version, but for my needs it did not differ from the basic plan.
Pluspunten:
I moved all my communication, file sharing, project managing, discussions inside my organisation to Slack. It was motivated by the price, accessibility, ease of deployment, and great, impactfull features like threads in communications and bookmarks for file sharing. Real time synchornization also played a big part of my decision. I check about 10-12 different software before deciding on Slack and it was one of the best decision for my workflow.
Minpunten:
Some of my employee complains about temporally losing access to Slack, but I personally never experienced something like that. Nevertheless it can be frustrating, when all my communication is done by Slack and some employee can't log in.
Communication for (Cool) Professionals
Opmerkingen: We can definitely communicate with almost no exceptions. It takes the "where is this person" out of the equation as you can just send them a message and know when they come online and see it. The benefits to not just sitting and waiting on an answered email are endless.
Pluspunten:
I don't remember how my team communicated before Slack. It keeps my coworkers connected in and out of the office. It cuts down on our emails and makes communication easy. There are a lot of apps and integrations that can be added to automate processes. You can integrate project management tools, Google Docs, Spotify, Canto DAM, Giphy for some fun with coworkers and so many more. I love that I can drag and drop files, images and videos into slack to share with my coworkers. In addition, slack allows free integration with many other tools out there. My peers who are software developers talk about how easy it is in the backend for integration. Slack is easy to use and has great built in functions for notifications. It has really been extremely helpful to get multiple departments talking at times and keep each department informed while not in the same location. The ability to upload files makes it easy to share ideas.
Minpunten:
The Screen sharing could be improved, along with mic recognizing. When network connectivity is lost during screen sharing or calls, the reconnect feature doesn't seem to work really efficiently. My biggest complaint is that Slack makes you way too available. You're expected to know whats going on whether you are at home sick or in the office working. Sometimes the app on the phone won't clear your notifications even after reading or checking through them.
The best solution if you don't want to bother choosing
Opmerkingen: For me, Slack is the best option available for team chats. It has some flaws, but no solution can replace it really. If you want your company conversations to be organized, and also to be fast and mobile, there is no better choice for me.
Pluspunten:
Slack is the best team chat software I ever seen. It works great on any platform, it looks cool and convenient, and you definitely should try it in your team or company if you never done this before. Team discussions are organized in channels, while direct messages is also available. In our company we also heavily use other messages organization feature: threads, which is like having channels in channels. So, we usually post only one message in channel for one topic, and then all who want to participate in discussion goes to thread attached to this message. In this way, channels stays clean, and anybody who don't want to participate in this discussion gets only one notification ― from discussion start. I really can't understand why other team chats can't implement threads in the right way ― like Slack did. In addition to the above, Slack has many features that helps organizing work. My lovest feature is posts, which is something between usual messages and documents. So, if you want to post something really big, what should be properly formatted with headers and so on, you can use post. And posts also has collaboration features, so it sometimes can replace Google Docs (integration with which is also included).
Minpunten:
Slack is based on web technologies, which is great for portability, but on the other side Slack really not as responsive as I want. It still works fast enough for generic user, but I can clearly say it is not native application. Any chat app can't live without files sharing. And while file sharing is available, I can't even say it is OK. While viewing images and photos works pretty normally most times, anything more complex works illy. I can't sometimes understand if file downloads or not, and when it comes to video playing -- oh, it works awful most times. The last thing I should mention, but which can be the big one for somebody: Slack is cloud-hosted only. So, all data is saved on Slack servers, and there is no way to use your own server. Moreover, it also means that you are bound to Slack infrastructure and should pay for it if you want bigger history of messages and some other features.
Overwogen alternatieven:
Essential for Running any Tech Business in 2019
Opmerkingen: Overall, Slack has been able to bring our teams together on both large scale and smaller scale business services where there are no longer dependencies in communication because all the important information is either sent as a message on each channel or sent as a reference link on each channel.
Pluspunten:
I currently run two separate companies, a tech repair company and a digital marketing firm, both of which rely heavily on large-scale business services. Slack allows both companies to efficiently manage each project with the channel functionality, where each of our projects is placed into a separate channel where we discuss important updates, share important documents and Tag important notes. All of this is made incredibly simple with slacks dead simple user interface and it's most certainly safe to say that our companies would face difficult times without this software.
Minpunten:
There is one small annoyance that I have had with the software ever since our companies began using it years ago: the naming scheme for each slack channel. Each channel requires you to have lowercase letters with no spaces allowed and instead only allows underscores. This obviously in not an important issue, but it has definitely annoyed me in the past when I had to retype some of my channel names.
The absolute best team communication software.
Opmerkingen: I have absolutely enjoyed Slack in the time that I have used the service. I think that t
Pluspunten:
My experience with Slack has been absolutely magnificent. Slack has amazing features and here are some of my favorite ones: History: A new member is added to a Slack channel, instantly has access to the entire conversation history right from when the channel was created, including shared files and all. This makes bringing a new team member onboard a project that much more seamless as s/he can easily go through earlier conversations to gain context and insight. This really helped me as a new employee. Jump to date: All of Slack's functionality is cloud-based. This amazing feature lets you jump to a specific date in the history of a conversation. So, if you're looking for what a colleague sent to you on your birthday or a flier that was sent out on independence day, this helps you avoid scrolling through tons of messages and media. Search: Slack's search allows you to search through several conversations (channels and direct messages) instantly for keywords and to filter by sender, conversation and date as well as to sort by most recent or most relevant. Also, this functionality searches not just messages, but files as well for the keywords you enter. Slackbot & Reminders: Slack's helpful reminders help you stay on top of your game. With a few clicks, you can ask the Slackbot to remind you in 20mins, an hour, 3 hours, tomorrow or next week. Helpful shortcuts, relatable reactions, and powerful integrations are some of the other awesome features of this intuitive software.
Minpunten:
Price: As an employee, I don't bother about the pricing but I can tell that it might be a hindrance for smaller start-ups Well, there's a limited-use free version but the app isn't free at scale. Group DMs: Slack allows you to create multi-way chats (group DMs) that accommodate 3 to 8 members. However, once created, you cannot add another member to an existing group DM. Privacy: Privacy is very limited on Slack. Admins with enough clearance can pretty much gain access o everything, including your direct messages with another user. Keep personal conversations off Slack.
