You can achieve this by download the relevant profiles from the website and using a third party generic OpenVPN or WireGuard client, but it’s less than option for new users and you’re tied to the specific server you download the configuration for - meaning you cannot benefit from options like connecting to a random server or the fastest available within the chosen country. Many competitor offer such a feature and, while achievable, still looks like a big shortcoming for me. > > The app and the service are very good and very much solid from every point of view. Despite the gripe described above due to the absence of automation features in the app, I still wholeheartedly recommend ProtonVPN.
