Examen software is een platform voor het maken van online toetsen, het delen van opdrachten, het berekenen van cijfers en het genereren van voortgangsrapportages. In essentie is het vergelijkbaar met beoordelingssoftware. Examen software kan worden gebruikt voor het uitvoeren van [online beoordelingen] van kandidaten (/directory/31117/assessment/software). De tool wordt veel gebruikt in scholen, hogescholen, universiteiten en onafhankelijke coachingsinstituten.
De voordelen van examen software
De conventionele manier van examens afnemen was met pen en papier, wat tijdrovend was en meerdere beveiligingsfouten bevatte. Daarentegen biedt het gebruik van een speciale examen oplossing veel voordelen, zoals de onderstaande:
- Bespaart tijd en papier: het opstellen van toetsen is een lastige klus, waarvoor tal van iteraties en evaluaties nodig zijn voordat het door elke examinator wordt afgerond en goedgekeurd. Examen software biedt een collaboratief platform voor het ontwerpen van toetspapieren, waardoor het steeds opnieuw printen van de documenten wordt voorkomen. Overwegingen bij de aankoop van examen software
- Schaalbaarheid van de software: onderwijsinstellingen zijn nooit zeker over het aantal kandidaten dat voor een toets verschijnt. Het kan variëren van een paar honderd tot duizenden. Daarom is het raadzaam om te kiezen voor oplossingen en pakketten die het mogelijk maken om het aantal gebruikers/toetsen te verhogen, zodat alle kandidaten toetsen kunnen doen.
- Softwarecompatibiliteit en -stabiliteit: met examen software kunnen online toetsen naar een groot aantal kandidaten worden gestuurd, die allemaal tegelijk moeten inloggen. Dit vereist een groot aantal gelijktijdige netwerkverbindingsaanvragen. Daarom is een betrouwbare leverancier nodig die in staat is om zwaar netwerkverkeer aan te kunnen. Ook moet de software in staat zijn om meerdere hardwareconfiguraties te ondersteunen, aangezien de toetsen op veel verschillende soorten besturingssystemen zullen worden uitgevoerd.
Belangrijke trends op het gebied van examen software
- AI om de behoefte aan fysieke surveillanten te elimineren: het organiseren van een gecentraliseerde toets is niet goedkoop vanwege de hoge kosten van het sturen van begeleiders, surveillanten en toetsapparatuur naar verschillende locaties. Maar kunstmatige intelligentie (AI) kan dit voorkomen. Onderwijsinstellingen maken meer en meer gebruik van toetsen met auto-surveillanten met AI-mogelijkheden om toetsen uit te voeren in een veilige omgeving waarin bedrog niet mogelijk is. Nieuwere oplossingen bieden AI die gebruik maakt van gezichtsherkenning en digitale ID's, om ervoor te zorgen dat studenten geen oneerlijke middelen gebruiken.
- Geavanceerde analyse kan helpen bij het ontwikkelen van toetsen: examen software bevat geavanceerde analyse voor het ontwerpen van toetspapieren. Het maakt gebruik van gegevens die zijn verzameld uit verschillende gegevenspunten, zoals de tijd die wordt besteed aan verschillende vragen, de snelheid van het invullen van het papier, de prestaties en de trends in eerdere examens. Assessment21, een soort AI-ondersteunde beoordelingssoftware die is ontwikkeld aan de Universiteit van Manchester, vermindert de kosten voor het opstellen, beheren en beoordelen van traditionele papieren examens.
