- Wearable technologie levert naadloze kassa-aankopen: wearables zoals Disney's Magicband lijken voorlopig misschien alleen nog maar dure mogelijkheden, maar draagbare computers zullen in de nabije toekomst veranderen hoe restaurants omgaan met hun klanten en hoe ze betalingen accepteren. - Zelfbedieningskiosken besparen op de arbeidskosten en verminderen de verkeerd begrepen bestellingen: dit model is in fastfood restaurants al in opkomst, maar naarmate de minimumloonkosten stijgen zal de aantrekkelijkheid van zelfbedieningskiosken ook in andere restaurants tot een hogere acceptatie leiden. Een bijkomend voordeel voor restauranthouders is dat de miscommunicatie tussen klanten, bedienend personeel en keukenpersoneel wordt geëlimineerd; bestellingen kunnen rechtstreeks van de klant naar de keuken worden gestuurd, waardoor de efficiëntie stijgt en er minder fouten worden gemaakt.
